How can you win an iPad Air 16GB ($500 value)? Each student will have several opportunities to accumulate entries by engaging on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram throughout Manufacturing Awareness Week by using the hashtag #MakeitinUC.
Open House Events
- Use the hashtag #MakeitinUC at each open house you attend to earn 1 entry per event per post on each social network.
- Example – Enjoying my tour of Greiner Bio-One! #MakeitinUC
- Post a message similar to this on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and receive 3 entries. If a student posts a message on only Twitter, the student will receive 1 entry.
- Example – Enjoying my tour of Greiner Bio-One! #MakeitinUC
South Piedmont Community College Manufacturer’s Showcase
- Each student is encouraged to use social media to share their experience throughout the showcase. After visiting each manufacturer’s table, use the hashtag #MakeitinUC telling us about your visit to receive 1 entry per manufacturer’s table.
- Example – If a student visits 20 manufacturer’s tables and posts via social media using the hashtag #MakeitinUC, the student will receive 20 entries.
- Note – A student will not receive multiple entries for posting on multiple social media sites.
How will the winner be chosen?
- The student who accumulates the most entries throughout Manufacturing Awareness Week will be determined the winner of the contest!
- Remember to use the hashtag #MakeitinUC on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram to receive entries.
*This contest is open to High School students in the Union County Public School System
*The student with the most entries will win an iPad
*In case of a tie, a random drawing will choose the winner

How do we win? You have 5 Opportunities to Earn Points
Open House Events:
- Pick-up Your Passport & Attend an Open House event on Tuesday, September 30 or Wednesday, October 1 = 500 Points
- Place Your Name and Your School Name on the Passport (must be legible) = 100 Points
- Bring classmates with you to the Open House event = 100 Points per classmate
- Bring your Parents to the Open House event = 200 Points per Parent
- Get your Teacher to attend the Open House event = 300 Points per Teacher
- Get your Counselor or Career Development Coordinator to attend the Open House event = 400 Points per Attendee
- Earn 500 Extra Bonus Points by obtaining the answer to a question at the Open House event
South Piedmont Community College Display Event:
- Pick-up Your Passport & Earn 1,000 Points just for attending this event
- Place Your Name and Your School Name on the Passport (must be legible) = 100 Points
- Bring classmates with you to the Open House event = 100 Points per classmate
- Bring your Parents to the Open House event = 200 Points per Parent
- Get your Teacher to attend the Open House event = 300 Points per Teacher
- Get your Counselor or Career Development Coordinator to attend the Open House event = 400 Points per Attendee
- Visit each vendor booth and get a signature = 100 Points per Booth
*Passports will be available at each event and must be turned in upon exiting
*Passports must be legible to be accepted
*This contest is open to High School students in the Union County Public School System
*The school with the highest points will win $3,000 to be used towards STEM technology equipment
*In case of a tie, the winner will be chosen by random draw
